Topic : Unit 14: Uncle Foon’s Stall
Focus: 4. Language Arts
Content Standard(s) : 1.1 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will

stress,rhythm and intonation.
4.1 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils
will be able to enjoy and appreciate rhymes, poems and so
songs.
Learning Standard(s) : 1.1.3 Able to listen to, say aloud and recite rhymes or sing
songs with guidance.
4.1.1 Able to enjoy nursery rhymes and action songs
through non-verbal response.
4.1.2 Able to recite nursery rhymes and sing action songs
with correct pronunciation and rhythm.
Objectives : By the end of the lesson pupils should be able to listen to, say aloud
and recite rhyme with guidance.
Activities :
1. Teacher play interactive cd-rom.
2. Teacher recite rhyme the song and pupils listen.
3. Teacher recites the with the correct action and pupils follow.
4. Pupils sing the rhyme with the correct action with correct pronunciation and rhythm.
5. Teachers gets pupils to perform in groups.

Content Standard(s) : 2.1. Able to blend two to four phonemes into recognizable
words and read them aloud.
3.2 By the end of the 6 year primary schooling, pupils will
be able to write using appropriate language, form and style
for a range of purposes.
Learning Standard(s) : 2.1.2 (e) Able to recognise and articulate initial, medial and the final
sounds in single syllable words within given context:
- /h/ /b/ /f/ /l/ (h) (b) (f,ff) (l,ll) /s/ (ss).
3.2.4 Able to spell common sight words and seen words.
Objectives : By the end of the lesson pupils should be able to trace the letter ‘s’ and
write words ending with ‘ss’ sound.
Activities :
1. Teacher introduces the letter ‘s’.
2. Teacher teaches the relation between the graphemes and the phonemes.
3. Get pupils to trace the letters.
4. Pupils follow the teacher reads aloud the words ending with ‘ss’ sound.
5. Pupils find and circle the words in word maze and list the words.

Content Standard(s) : Pupils will be able to demonstrate understanding of a variety
of linear and non-linear texts in the form of print and non
print materials using a range of strategies to construct
meaning.
Learning Standard(s) : Able to read a paragraph of 3-5 simple sentences with
Guidance.
Objectives : By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to read six
Sentences with guided by teacher.
Activities : 1. Teacher shows vegetables pictures to pupils.
2. Teacher reads aloud the sentences.
3. Teacher and pupils read together the sentences.
4. Teacher asks pupils to read in groups.
5. Teacher stress pupils pronunciation.
6. Pupils in group read the sentences given and replace the word with vegetable pictures.
7. Every pupils come out and choose the vegetables and
read correctly the sentence.

Learning Standard(s) : 1.3.1 Able to listen to and demonstrate understanding of oral
texts by:
a. giving Yes/No replies
b. answering simple Wh -Questions
Objectives : By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to name five
Vegetables.
Activities : 1. Teacher display vegetables on the table.
2. Teacher asks pupils few Wh-questions.
3. Pupils answer Yes/No replies
4. Teacher divides pupils into 5 groups.
5. Teacher gives a vegetable an envelope to each group.
6.Pupils rearrange the letters to name the vegetable.
7.Pupils show the vegetables and read aloud its name.
